        loved that film. what i found funniest, having not seen it until '85 or '86, is many of the bands that were in that film, playing punk, were at that time getting heavy rotation on MTV as their sellout evolution into 'new wave'...

    That is one tough question (but a really good one!). I culled it down to my Top 6 songs with a tie for #7. Here goes:

    1. I Die: You Die
    2. You Are in My Vision
    3. The Dream Police
    4. The Aircrash Bureau
    5. Down in the Park
    6. She’s Got Claws

    7. Friends (live)/Your Fascination

    As far as albums go, here are my Top 3:

    These "favorites" lists are so hard, but if I must....

    1) "Me! I Disconnect From You"
    2) "Berserker"
    3) "Crazier"
    4) "Are 'Friends' Electric?"
    5) "Metal", the Afrika Bambaataa collaboration remix
    6) "Bombers"
    7) "I Die: You Die"
    8) "Cold Warning"
    Furthermore) "Cars". Like it or not, it is one of his best songs. I'm surprised no one else mentioned it.

    And don't throw rocks at me, but I totally love "Freak Like Me" by the Sugababes, the best use of a sample of any artist in any song ever in my opinion.

      definitely too hard, especially with a body of work stretching back for over a quarter of a century, and with many changes in musical style along the way...

      quite nice to see "absolution" appear. i find it popping into my head at different times in life...

    I totally forgot "A Prayer For The Unborn". Before I listened to the album, I assumed it was some sort of anti-abortion song, but after learning that it was about the first baby that he and his wife lost I found the song very profound. And every time I listen to it, the song becomes more and more haunting. I hate to say it, but a lot of his more recent work sounds too similar to each other for me to get excited about it, but "Crazier" and "A Prayer For The Unborn" definitely stand out.

      *We Take Mystery (To Bed)
      *Zero Bars(Mr.Smith)
      *I Sing Rain
      *O. D. receiver
      *The Aircrash Bureau
      *This Prison Moon
      *Sleep By Windows
      *Slowcar to China(i want to cover this)
      *Crash
      *This is my House (i can never get this song out of my brain!)
      *Remind Me To Smile(secretaries, nothing more,you can be replaced y'know." that line always gets me)
      *New Anger
      *Bombers
      ...whoah i need to stop....

      ...i did enjoy Crazier and Ancient but i liked the elements of Pure but think the productiuon is a bit muddy for my liking.
      Its still a great listen but not as often for me...i kind of wish he could alter the sound he's built since Sacrifice just a little.
      Dont get me wrong i love most all of his stuff but i just hope Jagged isent as 'samey' after Pure

          I agree w/ your three songs. :^) The first song I EVER heard...even BEFORE CARS....was Me! I disconnect from you....the 2nd was You R N MY Vision...

          BUT, my FAV SONG OF ALL TIME , ............. which NO ONE MENTIONED.................has to be:
          I DREAM OF WIRES

          Nothing BEATS IT!! especially when "we drove to work by proxy" LOL hahaha

          IT IS MY FAV SONG BECAUSE: "I PLUGGED MY WIFE IN JUST FOR SHOW" 'LOL' hahaha
