I read it a long time ago, so I might be getting this wrong. Also something to do with being "secretaries, nothing more- you can be replaced, you know". I could be getting my facts totally wrong. and NO...your not a dork at all....I am TOTALLY like that with autobigraphies & facts...I LOVE to find that stuff out....i have been meaning to pick up "Praying to the Aliens" for yrs now, I just keep forgetting to read it! -

I have often wondered about this myself. One day, when doing some research on the web I stumbled across the answer.
'S.U's' was the street name for a drug, a kind of amphetamine I think, that Gary Numan used to take prolonged during recording sessions.
I am trying to find the original web address where I came across that information, so I can post it as a reference.
